Flookes
Texas born. The land does something to a person — makes them either a rancher or a dreamer. Back home, most people would say Flookes had his head in the clouds. They weren't wrong. They just didn't know what he was dreaming about.
At 14, armed with a Hi-8 camera, a collection of action figures, and the unearned confidence that defines all great artists, he began cutting films that no one asked for and everyone ignored. He considers this his most critically acclaimed period.
In 2005 he descended into the basement of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners — not as a prisoner, though the hours suggested otherwise — and discovered his true calling: taking the raw, chaotic footage of other people's visions and turning it into something that makes strangers feel things they didn't budget for.
Three years at TEAK. A decade at Umlaut Films. In 2020, WTBR. The companies change. The obsession does not.
Twenty years of deadlines met, stories told, and frames — thousands upon thousands of frames — arranged in precisely the right order. He will do it again tomorrow. He cannot help himself.
Open to freelance projects, collaborations, and new opportunities.
